From the Plane
This is a picture I took from the plane coming back from Germany. It's the UK coast, somewhere south of Middlesbrough. Anyone recognise it? I want to know where it is!

Subject to a discussion last night, is the curve in the picture actually the curve of the earth, or the lense of the camera?
Are you sure its the earth's curvature? It just looks like a big wave to me.

For the record, no, I'm not sure it is the Earth's curvature! I remember being taught that you could see a curved horizon from a plane, but I'm not sure how reliable that information was!
With a lack of evidence either way at this point, I concede that - as Chris first suggested - perhaps a lens effect is more likely.
